Our brain is divided into two parts: the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious is the part we know, the part of the brain we use to memorize what we want. The subconscious, on the other hand, is the part we cannot control. It is the part where dreams, memory scraps or past experiences end up. Our subconscious mind, or subconscious mind, is so important and fundamental in our lives. The subconscious controls most of our body’s functions, and some mental functions. For this reason, there must be a strong collaboration between the conscious and subconscious mind.
Memory is the most important function of the subconscious, all the others derive directly or indirectly from it. When we decide to remember something, we are urging our subconscious and requesting its collaboration. Our subconscious communicates continuously with the conscious mind. Unfortunately, however, in modern society, we do not give enough weight and importance to this type of communication, and therefore many of us are not able to make the best use of the opportunities and possibilities that the subconscious offers us. Some of how the subconscious speaks to us are dreams, intuitions, imagination, feelings, physical sensations.
- Involuntary body functions (heartbeat, breathing, etc)
- Extrasensory perceptions
The subconscious is directly concerned with controlling most of our body’s functions. Thus, using the attention of the conscious mind to influence the control of the subconscious on our body can have surprising effects on the use of the body. However, these effects can be positive or negative, depending on the influence that the conscious mind has on the subconscious. As it has already been demonstrated by science; our body is influenced by the way we think and feel, by our feelings and by how we “feel” on a mental level. Even the actions we perform consciously need the collaboration of the subconscious mind, so if there is a close proactive and constructive collaboration between the subconscious and the conscious mind, we can make our body perform even very complex and difficult functions and activities. The great athletes are an example of how the collaboration between the subconscious and the conscious mind can give excellent results, and allow actions to be taken that seems impossible.
The characteristics of the subconscious mind, which determine its functions, are as follows:
Programmable: The subconscious can always be controlled by reprogramming in the form of auto suggestions, visualization, affirmations, etc.
Takes information literally: Subconscious mind tends to accept information and data given by conscious mind as true without any interpretation or translation.
Unable to Analyze Data: When Subconscious mind is given instruction or a command, the subconscious mind accepts it as authentic and acts accordingly, without worrying about whether it is something illogical, negative or harmful. The subconscious cannot recognize serious information from a joke. It operates innocently and takes everything seriously.
The Subconscious controls a high percentage of our thoughts and actions and therefore of our lives. The subconscious can be programmed. Programming is the set of messages that we send to the subconscious through suggestions or images to produce the desired changes.
